Thanks Dawn and Robert for your kind comments. Robert, I am Sally's son and, yes she is the Miss Long you remember. Sally was 89 when she passed away.

How sad if it is sally long who taught at troedyrhiw secondary modern school / MERTHYR? MISS LONG AS SHE THEN WAS TAUGHT THERE under the headmaster Mr Lambert I was a pupil at troedyrhiw as a 75 year old i remember her I know she taught there 1960/65. Probably the only teacher from that era left is Miss Christine Jones may i ask how old Miss Long was when she passed away? MANY FOND MEMORIES OF A VERY HAPPY TIME GOD BLESS YOU MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. From a former pupil Robert Williams aged 74
